In a world where we receive constant messaging, whether from family/friends or marketing campaigns, telling us that we are too sad, anxious, emotional, feminine, masculine, big, small, you fill in the blank, oftentimes we are at war with ourselves. This misalignment within us can take both a physical and emotional toll on us. I help my clients address their suffering by teaching and encouraging them to befriend their mind rather than be at odds with it.
Even the thought of starting to work with a therapist can be scary, and so I want to congratulate and commend you for coming this far. I think many people get scared at the prospect of having to face and walk through their pain. Many would like to find a way around the pain altogether. And the thing is, I don’t blame you. I feel that way too. The only thing is that I also know that by bypassing the work of facing and encountering our pain, we may be only setting ourselves up to have to once again deal with our unresolved thoughts/feelings further down the road. I am willing to take the potentially arduous and scary road with you. Things may not always feel comfortable, but I can assure you that I will be right by your side throughout the journey.
